April Charter Fishing Report Clearwater Beach, FL
April’s Fishing has been good both on Clearwater Beach and St.Pete Beach. We have been catching good numbers of Pompano while fishing with jigs. Sharks are starting to show up, Trout are moving into the passes and Redfish are invading the area. Snook fishing inside of Tampa Bay has also been good. Fishing out of the Clearwater Beach, Dunedin and Tampa Bay area targeting trout, snook, and redfish. We have been having great results, catching large seatrout over 20″ and slot snook. Pinfish and shrimp fished near the edge of grass flats and drop offs have been the ticket, whitebait has been productive as well when available. DOA paddle tails on a 1/4oz jig head have been catching fish as well for anglers wanting to use artificial or looking to cover more water.

Clearwater Beach Fishing Inshore this month has produced lots of Spotted Sea Trout, a few Redfish, and a some snook. Live Shrimp has been the bait of choice, but Sardines are starting to show back up. Mackerel and King Fish should be right behind them. January 2018 Fishing Report for Clearwater beach and Tampa bay
January fishing has had consistent with catches of Sea Trout, Sheepshead, Black drum, Pompano, and a few Redfish. We have been fishing in between cold fronts, but when its not blowing we’re fishing! We have mainly been fishing with live shrimp and some artificial lures. If you prefer lures over bait just let me know! Here are some pics from the first half of the month.

December Fishing Report for the Clearwater, Clearwater Beach, St.Pete Beach, and Tampa Bay Area. We have been targeting Trout, Redfish, and Snook for most of December with good results. Inshore fishing this week in the Clearwater beach area has been Great, and the weather has been outstanding. In the last couple of fishing trips this week we have caught trout, redfish, snook, and big bluefish. Fishing should remain good over the next few weeks with similar conditions but I expect the triple tail to show up in the coming weeks. Late October Charter Fishing report for Clearwater beach, Tampa bay, St.Pete beach.
We have just got our first cold front here in Florida as I write this report. Earlier this week leading up to the front we had some outstanding fishing for reds, trout and snook! I fished with a few different groups, and had a couple multi boat charters with Capt. Mike Cole, and Capt.Ethan Kiburz. Fishing out of Clearwater beach for most of my charter trips we targeted all three species fishing live baits around islands and docks inshore. We caught several redfish, snook, and trout all on light tackle spinning rods with 15lb test line. Tampa bay fishing was really good as well as we did a few days targeting snook in the back country waters in the bay to avoid the windy weather. October is one of the best months for fishing here in the Clearwater beach, St.Pete beach, Tampa bay area. Everything is biting and the weather is Great!!! Inshore fishing Snook, Redfish, Trout and many more are biting, nearshore the Kingfish and Mackerel are running.
Inshore Snook, Redfish, and Trout have all been caught on recent fishing charters. Snook season is open and we have been catching slot fish. Snook slot size is 28″-33″. Redfish are getting caught on most charter. We have been free lining live sardines around oyster beds, and cut baiting around docks with good success. Trout fishing is also getting better by the day, and the size of the fish are increasing as they come in from offshore and gather in shallows.
Nearshore fishing trips of St.Pete beach and Clearwater beach have been catching nice sized mackerel and schoolie sized kingfish. The random cobia have been showing up as well, and we still have some sharks in the area.

May Fishing Charter Report for Clearwater Beach, Tampa Bay, and St.Pete Beach area. Inshore and Nearshore the fish are biting!! Inshore Snook, Redfish, Trout, and Finally the Tarpon are all biting. Nearshore Snapper, Sharks, and Permit are around.
Clearwater Beach is getting ready for Summer vacation! Summer is here and everyone is heading for the beaches including the fish… Snook are out around the gulf beaches gathering up for Spawning season and are quite the fighters once hooked up. Snook season is closed currently, but make great catch and reason action. Redfish have been a around and in good numbers. The high tide has been best to catch these fish, and we have often been fishing for trout and snook while we wait for the tide to get to the right level.
Tampa Bay’s Snook and Redfish bite has been has hot! Inside the bay snook are bunching back up for the spawn, and the redfish are schooled up as well make for some fun fishing. Snook have been averaging anywhere from 20”-30” with a few large biting as well. Redfish have been top of the slot size 27” or even as large as 36” and we are catching them in shallow water 2′ or less. Live bait and Cut bait have both been working well. Trout fishing has also be outstanding, and getting a few for a fresh fish dinner hasn’t been a problem.
St.Pete Beach fishing has been providing plenty of action for anglers visiting this area. Tarpon, Snook, Redfish, trout, and sharks have all been around and willing to bite over the last few weeks. Tarpon fishing is starting to get good, the fish were a little late this year, but they are finally here and the bite is getting better daily. Tarpon fishing trips are limited to only one trip per day as it is a full day charter. Snook, Redfish, and Trout are also providing a steady bite on the inshore flats around ft.desoto park. Live sardine have been abundant and the fish are willing to strike. If you have kids the small sharks have been around they they loving them! Give me a call if you want to get out
June is just a few days away, and the Tarpon Fishing trips are going too be Good!!! If you haven’t caught the Silver King yet June and July are your chance to tangle with this beast from the sea. Tarpon fishing charters during June and July are only full day charters. Permit fishing will also be good for any angler looking to catch one of these trophy fish.

Sept. Fishing Charter Fishing Report – Clearwater Beach -Tampa Bay, Florida
September Fishing has been good in Clearwater beach and Tampa bay for anglers looking to get out and do some charter fishing! Redfish, Snook, Spanish Mackerel, and Mangrove snapper have provide anglers plenty of action as of lately..!
Redfish have moved into the Clearwater harbor area, and have provided consistent action over the last couple of days. Most of the fish have been lower to mid slot size in the area and are perfect for that “blackened Redfish” recipe! The slot limit on Redfish in our area is 1 per person, and 18”-27”. the Redfish action will be good throughout October!!
Snook season is now open, and the Snook are on the move in Tampa Bay! Most of the have finished spawning and are ready to feed if you can find them! The Snook bite has been decent, but but outstanding, but for anglers looking to target only Snook the action can be had, and once the fish are found the wait can be worth it! Snook season will be open until November 30th. The size limit is 28”-33” 1 per. Person.
Nearshore fishing has been great for Mackerel, Bluefish, and snapper over the past week and the action should remain good throughout the rest of September. Both fish provide good steady action for the families and friends alike, and provide good table fair if you decide to take a few fish home for dinner!!

Fishing charters in the Clearwater, Tampa, St.Pete area are hot during the month of August for both the people… and the Fishing!!! For anglers that are willing to fish during the dog days of summer the rewards can be worth it. Tarpon, Snook, Redfish, Huge Black drum, Snapper and permit are schooled up and have been providing awesome action, Scallop season is still open, and Night fishing is also an option!
Kids are getting ready to go back to school, but for those that don’t have those obligations and are wanting to get out now is a great time. We have almost exclusively been fishing the morning to avoid the afternoon storms, but this week has been opposite with storms forcing cancellations most of this week, but the rest of the month be should be back on track fishing every day!
Snook have spawned for the most part and are slowly leaving the beaches and passes making there way back into the bays and estuary, not all the fish will leave beaches but the vast majority are in the process of leaving. Snook fishing will be good as these fish will be hungry since they have spawned. Live sardines will be key to fishing the snook in the coming weeks, and having a steady supply will be worth the effort.
Red fishing is turning on better and better each day as the schools of fish come into the bay gathering up for the spawning season. Schools of over slot Redfish can be found this time of year for anglers willing to invest the time, Sometimes it takes awhile to locate the fish as they move up and down the flats but once located and fished with live and cut bait the rewards can be worth the effort. Slot size Redfish have also been around in fair numbers in the areas im fishing.
Monster black drum are covering the bay bridges and for the anglers looking to tangle with these giant fish there have been a ton of them around. Fresh blue crabs fished around the bridges have been producing they brutes, and jigs will also work. These fish range in size from 10lbs up to 60lbs, and once a school is located they are willing to bite.
Snapper fishing has been outstanding. Limits of these snapper have been coming quickly, and they are great table fair. The limit of snapper is 5 fish per person, and they average about 13” in size. Typically we fish around structure, which can be anything from artificial reefs to bridges. Live sardines free-lined or on the bottom work well.
Tarpon fishing has still been hot and the fish of all size are around. Now that the spawn is over the breeder size Tarpon are feeding heavily in preparation for winter, and if you can find them it can be outstanding action. Smaller tarpon are also around in the 1-20lb range and are a blast to catch with light tackle and fly. Tarpon fishing will remain good for the next few months.
Permit have been around for anglers looking to catch there “Bucket list fish”. Permit are schooled up and for anglers looking to target them nothing beats a live crab for these fish. Permit have been in 10-25lb range and will hang around for the next couple of months.
Scallop season is still open and this year has been awesome with nice limits of scallops being caught on most trips. We have been finding scallops in the 2′-6′ range NW of the Homosassa River. The limit on scallops is 2gals per diver, and 10gals per boat. Scallop season runs until September 24th.
